What Can I Expect During My First Visit to a Chiropractor?
On your first visit to our office you will be asked to complete "new patient paper work" and required health history forms. These forms will help us learn more about you and your condition so we can determine how to treat you most effectively.
Consultation:
Next, Dr. Milnes will meet with you personally and ask you some specific questions regarding your condition. If our physician feels that they can help you, they will let you know. If they feel an alternative course of treatment is suitable for your condition, they will refer you to the physician that can provide the care you require.
Examination :
After a thorough consultation with the doctor, you will have a complete chiropractic examination. This will include a
physical exam, testing your reflexes, range of motion and muscles. Also it will include postural analysis, orthopedic
and neurologic tests.
X-ray : If necessary, the doctor may take X-rays or refer you for additional testing procedures. X-ray studies are required to get a full evaluation of a patient and to rule out any contraindications to chiropractic care.
Treatment: Following your exam and x-rays, therapy will begin consisting of vibratory massage, cold/hot packs and electric muscle stimulation. You will be given home instructions to follow until you next visit.
Report of Findings : Dr. Milnes will review your history, consultation information, examination findings and x-ray findings. From this he will develop a treatment plan specifically for your needs that will be out lined at the beginning of your next visit in a sheet summarizing his findings.
Adjustments and Treatment: Most of our patients begin to see results from the very first adjustment. Our effective treatment is specific for every patient's unique condition and, gentle enough for kids, yet able to restore function and movement for the athlete and senior.
For patients who have little or no chiropractic insurance coverage, flexible and affordable payment programs can be arranged.
