A Letter from Dr. Milnes...

Dear Patient,
Thank you for choosing Active Chiropractic & Rehabilitation as your health care team. To accelerate the healing of your injuries it is vital that you take an active role in your care by following the correct home care and avoid things that can aggravate your condition. Remember, if you keep doing what you are doing, your body is going to keep responding the way it is responding. Stay positive and keep smiling. Our website, ActiveFL.com, has a list of initial home care and stretches with instructions for you to visit. They are located under the About Chiro heading at the top of the page. Our care is done in a progressive manner to maximize your healing and minimize your discomfort. As your healing progresses we will become more specific in our treatments and increase your active rehab while decreasing the frequency of your visits. We will educate you so that can be an active participant in staying healthy.
About the IQ Impulse Instrument
The IQ impulse has a micro processor that measures the movement of the vertebra of the spine with each thrust and speeds up or slows down until it records three equal movements of the bone and the muscles attached to it. This improves motion of the vertebral joints, loosens the muscles attached to it and reduces irritation of the nerves which is the cause of your pain. The primary function of any Chiropractic adjustment is to reduce nerve irritation. Nerves control all muscles and muscles are what move all bones. Therefore even simple strains involve nerves, muscles and bones. For more information watch the IQ Impulse video on our website.
What to Expect
Initially after your adjustment you may feel muscle soreness as the stressed muscles begin to relax and the body returns to its correct alignment. Though many patients feel immediate relief following their adjustment, others feel the effects in a more gradual manner into the next day. As treatment continues you should be able to move more and feel better for longer periods of time. You will be given at home care instructions to maximize the benefit you receive from your care. Remember if only the pain decreases but proper function is not restored, degeneration will be accelerated and the pain will return. If proper function is restored and maintained then degeneration will be decreased and your pain will be minimized.
